ProjectBRA: A global beach run for awareness

July-December 2016  •  157 days

On 18 July 2016, I began running 3000km of beach across 184 countries (that's every coastal country and depedency in the world) in support of rape survivors. It's called Project Beach Run for Awareness, or ProjectBRA. In each country I talk with organisations working on sexual violence, I meet survivors, I share my own personal story, I link with different communities and I run 16km of beach, barefoot where possible. I'm using sport and adventure to change how we talk about this difficult issue and to remove the taboo forever. I want to be a voice, to give others the courage to break their silence and to show the world that there is no shame or blame when it comes to surviving rape. Joining me on this journey and help make a difference for you and the world!
